Tools for Schools

Tools for Schools is a suite of resources to help schools (EYFS - KS3) to engage with Bikeability more easily, thus enabling more children and young people to cycle safely and develop a lifelong love of cycling. Bikeability is today’s cycle training programme. It’s about gaining practical skills and understanding how to cycle on today’s roads.

  • What

There’s a Bikeability level to suit you, whether you’re just starting out or want to use your bike more safely and more often. Our professional instructors will help you develop better, safer cycling habits.

  • Why

Underpinned by the National Standard for cycle training; a government-recognised set of principles, Bikeability is an improved, updated and more relevant version of the old cycling proficiency scheme, delivered by professional instructors.

  • How

Bikeability courses are available throughout the year in every local authority in England. Children and adults can be trained individually or in groups, through school, clubs or private tuition.

Find a course near you

If you are looking for cycle training/advice for yourself, your employees or your family search for Bikeability providers in your local authority area. Many schools also already offer Bikeability - contact your child's school direct to find out when sessions are scheduled for this year.

Help us provide more children across the country with a vital life skill and a rite of passage – learning how to ride a bike! An essential, sustainable ‘tool’ for the next generation.
