Bikeability Level 2 success at Heatherlands Primary School, Poole

Your Stories

Background

My son week taken part in your Bikeability scheme at his school, he has never shown an interest in riding a bike, and up until 6 weeks ago didn’t own a bike. He was adamant he wanted to take part in the scheme and so we went out and purchased a bike for him. As a mum I have been terrified of him taking part in the scheme. Whilst I had faith in the instructors my fear was of my son’s lack of experience coupled with the build-up of traffic on our roads.

Activity

Bikeability Level 1 and 2 training was provided by Poole Borough Council, at Heatherlands Primary School, Poole, March 2019

Outcome

Now I have confidence that Rylee has the skills to ride safely on the road to and from school and is much more interested in riding his bike after the training.

I am so proud to say that my son completed the scheme with you this week, and I wanted to show my gratitude to your coaches. Thank you for showing faith in him and instructing him on safe road practice. I hope he will take the skills that he has learnt into the future with him and enjoy being on his bike.

As a family we plan to all use a bike more, not only to put Rylee’s new road safety skills to good use, but also to encourage a healthy lifestyle. We have a few little trips planned which involves us venturing out on our bikes, enjoying the local countryside… and of course finding a nice spot for an ice cream.
